Interdependence and Decentralization

You as Ecosystem

You are an ecosystem - The way that you talk to yourself, relate to yourself, and are with yourself matters. The connections between all the parts of you are important and repairing or rewiring these connections is part of the healing process. Making space for all the parts of yourself and coming into reciprocal relationship within yourself, this is how we become whole again.

How are you holding yourself as an ecosystem?

We as Ecosystem

We are an ecosystem - The ways that we relate to each other, our ability to hear and see each other, our ability to connect in deep and meaningful ways. The relationships between all of us matter and part of healing is coming back into reciprocal relationship with each other.

How do we coregulate and create community? What does it mean to be in community?

I often think about how to create change, how to dismantle the systems and structures of harm that we live within. And the answer that I always return to is, we dismantle these systems (capitalism, white supremacy, settler colonialism, cis-het-patriarchy et al) by building community and by building relationships. As we see in ecosystems, a change in one area cascades to create change in all areas. So how are you building relationships based on trust, care, respect, and reciprocity?

This is a record of my thoughts as I read Emergent Strategy by adrienne maree brown, I hope you learn something from this and read the book too. If you find yourself pondering these same concepts, connect with me through the next book club or through an individual appointment.
